Plankly is an independent flooring advisory based in Houston. We started it because the buying experience hadn't kept up with the homeowner — showrooms still sell what's on commission, and most online “guides” are affiliate pages dressed up as advice.

Flooring is genuinely complicated: six core materials, dozens of subcategories, hundreds of brands, and very few independent voices. So the conversation gets filled with words like “timeless”, “luxe” and “dream” — and a 400 sq ft living room ends up costing whatever the salesperson decides.

We do it differently. Plankly is an editorial site paired with a carefully vetted network of Houston-area installers and yards we'd hire ourselves. Tell us about the room and a member of our team — a real person — makes the introduction. If you hire the partner, they may pay us a small finder's fee. Your price doesn't change either way.
